1989 Mazda MX5 Mk1 – White

Inspired by the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) tuner scene, this ‘winking’ Mk1 MX5 features extended wheel arches, towing eye and single raised amber headlamp.

This poster features a background inspired by the Renown liveried 1989 Mazda 787B Rotary Powered LeMans Group C race car, which went on to win LeMans 24 hours in 1991, driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler, and Bertrand Gachot. An extremely famous car which inspired the Limited Edition Mk1 MX5 LeMans Edition in the UK.

Accurate and detailed, this print features unique attributes of the original car, but given a stylised and contemporary graphic treatment to look distinct and stylish on your wall.

Limited edition: Just 50 copies will be produced worldwide.

Quality: Lithographically printed, onto thick 250gsm silk paper stock and hand finished for vibrant and accurate colour reproduction.

Dimensions: 50 x 70cm to fit in a standard frame, e.g. from Ikea. Supplied unframed allowing you to match it to your own decor.

Product Description

motive culture logo product

Motive Culture ? founded by automotive illustrator Darren Curtis.

Motive Culture (AKA automotive illustrator Darren Curtis) creator of individual automotive prints. Founded in October 2017 and launched at the NEC Classic Motor Show a year later, in November 2018.

Since then Motive Culture has attended numerous shows including the International Historic Motorsport show Race Retro 2019 at Stoneleigh, Coventry; Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble and the first sponsored; show Classics at the Clubhouse, in Kingsclere, Hampshire.

?I wanted to add something different to my prints, a graphic twist. Using the Motive Culture logo with its stripes and a large roundel, sets the design. The MkI MX5 prints, for instance, have strong backgrounds, giving them a bold identity. Those who order Motive Culture prints are getting exclusive pieces because I don?t produce thousands of each design. Even the off-the-shelf designs are produced in low volumes and of course a print of an individual car is genuinely unique. Ultimately, it?s about capturing an enthusiast?s passion in a print.?

Sharing poster chat with Magnus Walker, renowned Porsche ambassador.

Why 'Motive Culture'?

The word ‘Motive’ is a pro-active, positive word ??a driving of passion, but also it’s conveniently part of the word automotive ??a word the founder?has been involved with most of his life. ‘Culture’ is a definitive way of life, a following and a bringing together of liked minded ideas and people. Pairing these words together creates a powerful brand, with room to grow and flourish.
The logo is a graphic play of the above, but also motorsport, driving, winning, cornering ??a powerful iconic automotive emblem. Perfect for the brand.

?I?d like to expand Motive Culture to work in partnership with other established brands too ? offering bespoke commissions to promote their products. Some watch companies establish these relationships, so it would be great to produce licensed collaborations. We’re currently establishing connections with a selection of companies.?
