Round 3 takes place in Portugal, a country with a rich Formula 1 history and first featured on the World Championship calendar in 1958, when Stirling Moss won in a Vanwall. More recently, the race ran from 1984 to 1996 at Estoril and the event made a welcome return last year with 66 laps of the 4.684-kilometre Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, a circuit famous for its fast and flowing turns.
