Adam from BoxBoxBox

The quote Adam from BoxBoxBox lives by. He started crafting beautiful designs and created this business back in 2016. BoxBoxBox surprises us with unique and special designs that are unlike anything around. As Adam says: 'I pride myself on originality and staying true to my values of producing sustainable, ethically produced products that people will love.'

"Live outside your comfort zone, that's when the magic happens"

David Bowie.

Who are the hands behind BoxBoxBox?

I'm an F1 fan first, a designer, and an entrepreneur second. I'm a trained barista, and when I'm not watching racing cars or making coffee, I'm chilling with my vinyl collection or working on more designs for clients and my BoxBoxBoxCo brand. I'm pretty partial to fig rolls too.

That's the beginning…

I've been a fan of Formula 1 since 1992, cheering on Nigel Mansell and then Damon Hill. Motorsport is the thing that keeps me sane. My uncle got me into car racing, taking me to see Touring Cars (the BTCC days of John Cleland and Matt Neal, etc). And then onto F1.

I'm also a designer, and I love making exceptional products. When looking for F1-themed gifts for my uncle, I couldn't find anything unusual beyond the team merchandise, so I did the usual thing and set up my own brand to design and make unique products for like-minded F1 fans and my uncle.

What inspires your artwork?

The glorious history of Grand Prix racing, the people, characters, and incredible stories from both past and present. I love the soap opera around F1 almost as much as the racing.

Speaking of Formula 1, who are your favorite racers?

Hill and Mansell from when I was a kid, Jenson Button, and Lewis Hamilton nowadays. I have a special place in my heart for Eddie Jordan and Kimi Raikkonen, too - such characters.

Who is the most famous driver/rider that you have met? When, where?

I've met most of the F1 grid, I used to run a blog called F1 Badger (then Badger GP, thanks to Bernie) and had the pleasure of interviewing most of the grid between 2008 and 2018.

A highlight was sitting down with Lewis Hamilton, 1 on 1 in Barcelona for a chat and a discussion about him missing bacon sandwiches. This was of course before he went plant-based! It was the same weekend when he was later demoted to last on the grid and got to see firsthand the incredible win of Pastor Maldonado. Bizarre, but a great GP to go to!

Who is someone that you look up to?

John, Paul, Ringo, and George.

Last but not least - what prompted you to join GPBox?

Nice people who run it. It's a delight of a treat for motorsport fans.
