Description

Aryton Senna and Gilles Villeneuve!

Two legends of the Number 27!
I wanted to paint a picture of Gilles Villeneuve and Aryton Senna two of the best drivers ever
to drive with the number 27.

Both drivers were heroes of Formula 1 and both were loved by fans very early on in their careers for their speed and courage and personalities..Both won Monaco in the number 27..both were quick in the rain..both were instantly recognizable from their helmets and cars..and sadly both died tragically very young.

I decided to include all these points above in one painting while trying to create the atmosphere of the past.
Hence I stripped the cars of all sponsorship livery.

Aryton Senna was a three time World Champion and even though Villeneuve only won 6 Grand Prix he helped Jody Scheckter win the title for Ferrari
and during his career showed straight away his speed and talent which compared him to the greats.

Villeneuve was himself a world champion in the making...and a true hero like Senna

I saw both Villeneuve and Senna race during their careers so it almost felt a must that I combined the two of them in one painting.
