Jim Clark - Lotus 33, Lotus 38, Ford Cortina Lotus - 1965 - Formula-1 Print - F1 Poster - Indy 500 Poster

A tribute poster to racing legend Jim Clark and more specifically his spectacular 1965 season. That year he took part in 63 races in various motorsport categories and won 31 of them. Among all the cars he drove (and won with) I chose the 3 most distinct ones:

The Lotus 33 as he raced it in Formula-1 at the Nürburgring, where he won both the race and world championship title.

The Lotus 38, the first rear-engined car to ever win the Indy 500 and Clark the first non-American winner since 1920. He is the only driver in history to win the Indy 500 and Formula One World Championship in the same year.

Last, but not least the mighty Ford Cortina Lotus, that he raced in several touring car championships to great success.

Creating this piece took me more than half a year, although it was not always the focus and I was also working on other projects, but this is easily my most detailed and most researched design.
